Winchester High Wall Model 1885 in .22-3000 R2 Lovell with Vintage Scope
Description:
Another Used, Custom Varmint Winchester High-Wall 1885 Rifle in .22 – 3000 R2 Lovell Caliber; 25 Inch Medium Weight Round Barrel with Rounded Crown; set up for Varmint and/or Target Use; Serial Number 63,8XX. The action, barrel and all parts appear refinished and reblued a long time ago with Winchester Patent Date and Serial Number Legible on the Lower Tang. The Barrel is Marked “W.F. VICKERY BOISE IDAHO / 22 – 3000 2R” in two lines and carries two Dovetail Bases mounted with a 23-½ Inch Long, Unmarked, Vintage, External Adjustable Scope that to our eye looks Greater than 10X Magnification Power. It has a Fine Crosshair Reticle with foxing around the edges of view. It is quite usable – and carries no price premium. The Mousetrap Spring on the Rear, Adjustable Ring looks like the old Winchester Scopes, but other features like adjustable parallax make it “unmarked / unknown maker” as far as we can tell. It is on the rifle and it's included. The Bore is in good shape with sharp rifling and no major pitting or defects. The Stock and Forend are Straight Grained, carry Fore & Aft Vintage Sling Swivels (not quick-detach); and backed by a Blued Steel Crescent Buttplate. Brass, Dies and Projectiles are available for this Cartridge – which is based on the old 25-20 SS Single Shot – which is entirely different than the 25-20 WCF. All mechanical functions of this rifle are tight and fully operational. Not being dealers or experts, we estimate the Refinished Condition as approximately Better than 70 Percent. Because this is a refinished customized varmint-target rifle, condition is best judged by the photos. Please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees after buyer pays return shipping. The listed price Includes Insured Ground Shipping from a CA FFL Dealer to yours. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are the Estate Executor and Trustee, not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
