Used Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in .458 Win Mag with a 25” barrel. The serial number dates this rifle to 1961. Adjustable island rear sight, hooded front sight, cheek piece, metal grip cap, ebony tip, sling swivels, and a Winchester orange rubber pad.
Excellent wood and checkering except a couple of scratches on the cheek piece and excellent bluing on the barrel. Excellent bore with sharp and crisp lands.
The .458 African was only produced by Winchester from 1956 to 1963. It is the third rarest of all pre-64 Winchester chamberings, with 1226 rifles being made in this chambering accounting for only 0.21% of all pre-64 Winchester Model 70’s ever produced.
