Winchester Model 54 SUPER GRADE 30-06. Excellent, original and incredibly SCARCE!
Description: ***SALE PENDING*** Very clean and nearly impossible to find, here's an incredibly scarce, unaltered and 100% genuine Winchester Model 54 SUPER GRADE in 30-06 caliber. S/N 45036A with matching scribed bolt made in 1935. Only 50,000 ever made in all styles of this famed forerunner to the Model 70, and there are VERY few collectible survivors left. The vast majority have been irreparably compromised with an array of unsightly modifications and/or abuse. Model 54 Super Grades were only made during the final few years of production (1934-36) and seem to be practically non existent. In my entire career, I have only observed a half dozen or so. This rifle remains in remarkably fine condition, showing better than 95% finishes throughout, with slightly more loss to the bottom metal and buttplate as is commonly seen on this particular model. 24" barrel with a superb bore. The mechanical functions are all superb as well. The rear receiver bridge remains correctly UNDRILLED. There is a proper factory inletted and installed, very scarce "long slide" Lyman 48W receiver sight with all matching component #s. There has never been a 22g rear sight on this rifle as evidenced by the lack of an elevator track on top of the barrel. Instead, there is the proper factory installed Lyman 12S filler plug in the barrel dovetail. The front sight is the proper brass beaded Lyman 31W with hood. All Super Grade components are present and original, right down to the SUPER GRADE stamped floorplate and the scarce "concave" shouldered Pre War style detachable swivels. A highly respectable example of this masterfully made and historically important Winchester bolt rifle, suitable for any advanced collection. You will surely have to look long and hard before you see another completely original Model 54 Super Grade like this... Get the good ones while you can!
