Winchester Model 53 Rifle 44-40 Winchester / 44 WCF Caliber
Description:
This is an excellent condition Used, Winchester Model 53 Rifle in 44-40 Caliber with 22-Inch Round Barrel; Half Magazine; Serial Number 67XX suggests (we are told by a collector) manufactured in approximately 1926 out of a total production run of approximately 15,100. The Barrel, Receiver, Patent, and Caliber Markings are Sharp and Correct, as are the Blued Magazine & Forend Caps. The Stock and Forend are Smooth and Straight Grained with moderate darkening. A Serrated Steel Buttplate retains some original finish. The Metal and Wood Finish are in very good condition – and appear original, although we cannot be certain. The Lever is Case-Colored and according to some collectors, may very well be a replacement. The receiver has a few surface-finish blemishes; the lever and trigger have some remaining case colors; the Bore is Bright with Excellent, Sharp Rifling. Mechanical functions are tight making this a shootable collector piece. We are not dealers or experts, and estimate this Rifle conservatively as approximately 90-plus Percent (or better) Original Condition. According to Fjestad, 44-40 caliber more than doubles the value Model 53 Rifles like this one. Considering it's excellent condition, this example is priced below Book value. Please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees after buyer pays return shipping. The listed price Includes Insured Ground Shipping from a CA FFL Dealer to yours. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are the Estate Executor and Trustee, not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
