Description:
This 'Model 1895 was manufactured in 1915 and shows a few unusual features. First, the upper handguard is an obvious replacement. The barrel band is probably from a musket, as most carbines did not have a sling swivel barrel band. Another curious feature is the magazine with sling stud. These were almost always found on the musket variant and especially on the Russian contract musket. A letter of origin would be a good idea from the Cody Firearms Museum. The Saddle Ring Carbine model is becoming more rare as the years go by. .30-06 Springfield
