WINCHESTER MODEL1894 1ST MODEL RIFLE IN CALIBER 38-55
Description:
Most all of the 1st Model 38-55's were octagon barrels as is this one. 26 inch octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. Dark bore that would benefit from a good cleaning. Blade front and what appears to be a Marlin rear sight. Plum/brown patina on all metal surfaces with good amounts of blue showing through especially in the protected areas. Real good fire blue on the loading gate. Wood shows some handling dings and mars while retaining most varnish as well as a few "achievement" notches on the forearm. Rifle style buttplate. The first Model 1894's have the "ten o'clock" screw on each side of the receiver. This is a good honest looking second year production Model 1894 Winchester
