Winchester Model 1886 chambered in .40-65 Winchester Center Fire. This is a lever-action repeating rifle designed by John Browning to handle some of the more powerful cartridges of the period. Though originally designed for black powder cartridges, the action was strong enough to transition to smokeless powder with only minor changes. It features a 26-inch octagon barrel, blue finish, smooth straight grip walnut stock and handguard, Semi-Buckhorn rear sight. The rifle is in good condition with moderate metal finish wear. The principal lettering, numerals and design on metal is legible. The stock is lightly scratched and bruised but free of cracks. It is in good working order. This rifle was originally shipped in 1892. .40-65 Winchester
