CUSTOM ANTIQUE WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 HIGH WALL RIFLE CHAMBERED IN 22 LR
Description:
Built on a first year three digit serial number color case hardened Octagon top thick-side receiver featuring a set trigger. Has been fitted with a later Winchester 28 inch No. 3 octagon barrel featuring the two-line Winchester address ending with the 1879 patent date that was used after serial number 75,000. Sights include a No. 69-B Windgauge Globe front with a filler in the rear dovetail and a Mid-Range Vernier peep sight on the tang. Walnut stocks have been freshened with a light cleaning and fresh coat of finish showing only light handling marks. Barrel shows 90% blue with light handling marks. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny with strong rifling. Receiver shows 85% case colors with light handling marks. Breech block, lever and Crescent rifle buttplate appear to have near all fresh re-case coloring. The mechanics are smooth and the action locks up tight but the set trigger needs work. Should be a great shooter.
