SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 RIFLE WITH UNUSUAL 28 INCH HALF OCTAGON BARREL

Description:
28 inch half octagon barrel chambered in 45-75 caliber with full length mag tube. A very good shiny bore with scattered light roughness. Blade front and an "1876" marked folding ladder rear with a folding tang sight. Thumbprint dust cover. Crisp tight action. Overall gun retains about 75-80% blue. Receiver has some scattered spots on the right side. Walnut stock shows a little extra figure and is in fine condition with most original varnish and a rifle style buttplate. According to Herb Houze's Book " The Winchester Model 1876 Centennial Rifle" there was only 210 of these manufactured in caliber 45-75. Comes complete with a Factory Letter of Authenticity. Interesting fact about the letter is that it states "Lid" which means it was made to have an open top but they added a lid in the factory.
