.30 ARMY (30-40 Krag)
Description:
VERY NICE 95 Carbine in .30 ARMY(30-40 Krag) mfg in 1921. 22" barrel with excellent bore(like new). Barrel is double proofed indicating possible factory rebarrel, not sure on this. Original barrel blue is outstanding with only slight wear. I would say 90%+. Receiver has turned mostly silver/gray with a little blue remaining in protected areas and some browning exhibited. Correct WR stamped Lyman 21 side mount receiver sight is present with rear barrel ladder sight removed. My guess is it was not factory installed, although I would say it was done a long time ago, as its wear and aging matches receiver well. Appears rifle had a saddle ring( due to rubbing on receiver), likely removed as it interfered with sight adjustment lever. Saddle ring hole filled with correct plug.Unfortunately I due not have saddle ring or rear ladder sight. No cleaning rod in buttplate compartment. Original wood with original finish on this piece is outstanding. would rate 90%+ also. The handguard appears to be original. but I question if to this gun due to its condition vs. the rest of rifle.
