SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 IN CALIBER 25-20 WCF
Description:
24 inch round barrel chambered in 25-20 WCF caliber with a dovetail blade front sight and an elevation adjustable flat top sporting rear sight. Button magazine is a special order feature. A Winchester factory oval proof is stamped on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The straight grip stock is fitted with a solid crescent buttplate and is marked with the period carved initials "CJM" on the right side near the buttplate. The barrel, receiver, bolt and hammer retain about 80% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. There are a few scattered patches of pitting. The wood is also fine with five notches near the toe, a repaired chip and absent chip at the upper tang and some mild handing marks. Crisp action and an excellent bright shiny bore.
