Description: On consignment we have a Winchester 1873 Third Model lever action rifle in .44-40 Winchester. This rifle features a walnut stock and forend, no buttplate, case colored receiver with almost no original finish, 24" round barrel, and semi-buckhorn rear sight with dovetailed blade front sight. Rifle function seems good and tight although it has not been fully tested for cycling and firing. Bore shows string rifling with pitting throughout. Serial number is 178293, manufactured in 1885.
