At times the gun came standard with a front square post sight on a streamlined ramp and an adjustable for elevation rear square notch sight. At others, it came with a beaded post front sight on a streamlined ramp and a fully adjustable for windage and elevation open rear sight. For safety, the gun had a cross lock in the front top of the trigger guard. The Winchester Model 290 was made in New Haven, Connecticut. This Model 290 is in Very good plus condition with a jeweled bolt. It shows a few light handling marks on the stock.
