Winchester Model 88 1956 First Full Year Of Production Nearly New Condition Exceptional Unmolested Closet Queen

WE ALSO HAVE SEVERAL MODEL 88 AND 100 CARBINES
This truly an unique find: not only are these exceptional rifles many with bolt action like accuracy but are to us one of the most handsome of deer rifles. Additionally the unique short throw lever allows fast 2d or 3d shots without taking you're eye out of the sight picture to prevent wounded or lost game. This gun chambered in .308 was made in the old Wincheser New Haven Ct plant now sadly long since closed where workmanship was excellent as evidenced by the beautifully polished blued surfaces. These early guns are distinguished by the tit in the back of the receiver where it meets the stock. Also these early guns had the more attractive larger checkering panels addiing to its good looks (these were hand chackered at the factory ...the larger panels took more laboer; later models shrunk the dimensions down and then ultimately replaced with the cheaper pressed type. If you've been holding out for a reall nice early 88 this could be you're gun. There is a small scrated area riight side of stock just forward of the magzine (see pics) and a few very modest handling marks
