Winchester ~ Model 70 ~ .270 Win
Description: This classic 1953 bolt action rifle is a Winchester Model 70 chambered in .270 Winchester. It has a textured ramp, fixed rounded blade front sight, no rear iron sight, a Weaver K4 period riflescope, a curved, grooved trigger, a Mauser-style controlled-feed action, a smooth round fore arm, a bolt-mounted safety lever, a sculpted raised Monte Carlo-style butt stock, a sculpted Schnabel-style pistol grip cap, and a hard black plastic butt plate with a white spacer. The action maintains positive control of a round throughout the feeding process and makes for an extremely reliable rifle. For this reason, the early Model 70 rifles have been favorites of many a dangerous game hunter on multiple continents, including Africa. Other features of the beloved Pre '64s are a three-position safety that allows for the safe cycling of the bolt, hand-fitted parts, and ultra-high quality finishes. The bluing is in fair condition, with significant bluing loss and some scrapes toward the muzzle and along the barrel; the receiver shows some bluing loss, particularly on the sharp edges. No apparent freckling is observable. The wood stock is in good condition, showing only 5-6 shallow marks, but with no deep scratches, chips or cracks observable. The bore is somewhat dull, but it appears to retain good rifling. It comes with a ⅞" wide leather strap, and sling studs and loops. .270 Winchester SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Metal Condition: "Metal bluing is in fair condition, with significant bluing loss and some scrapes toward the muzzle, receiver shows some bluing loss, particularly on the sharp edges Wood Condition: "Wood stock is in good condition, showing only 5-6 shallow marks, but with no deep scratches, chips or cracks observable Bore Condition: "Bore is somewhat dull, but it appears to retain good rifling Barrels: 24" barrel Triggers: "Curved, grooved trigger Stock Dimensions: "13¾"" LOP, overall length 45"" Fore End: Smooth round fore arm Butt Pad: "Sculpted raised Monte Carlo style butt stock, with a sculpted Schnabel-style pistol grip cap, and with a hard black plastic butt plate and white spacer Weight: 8 lbs 10 oz Sights: "Textured ramp, fixed rounded blade front sight, no rear iron sight, Weaver K4 riflescope Item Location: Wichita, KS |
