Pre War Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 220 Swift. Scarce!

Description:
Fantastic looking Pre War 70 in the hard to find 220 Swift caliber.
Early S/N 23038 with matching scribed bolt made in 1939.
The finishes on this rifle are in nearly pristine condition, with the only detractor being an added pair of holes on top of the matted rear receiver bridge.These holes are not visible without removal of the
factory optioned Lyman 48WJS receiver sight's aperture arm. This receiver sight works perfectly with good clicks and has all matching component numbers.
98% Blue over most with slightly more wear in the usual places of bottom metal and buttplate. 99% Varnish on the beautiful honey colored wood which may have had a light cleaning/topcoat. The insides are spotless.
26" stainless steel barrel with perfect bore/throat, muzzle face is correctly "in the white".
This rifle wears a high quality, vintage made Tilden safety lever which required no modification and was a substantial ergonomic and scope clearing upgrade. It could be returned to the original flag safety quite easily if so desired.
Excellent mechanical functions throughout.
