Shooting Times magazine awarded the Winchester 70 the title "Gun of the Century" in 1999. This model 70 is chambered in .223 Remington, a caliber widely used by target shooters and varmint hunters alike. 223 Remington, one of America's favorite calibers, is well suited for varmint or predator hunting. It's a practical cartridge that is very reliable. 223 Remington ammo can be found in abundance; this makes keeping your shooting skills sharp very easy, and restocking light on the wallet. It's also an easy gun/caliber combination to learn the ropes on if you're teaching a up-and-coming shooter. This model 70 features a rich walnut stock and 24 inch matte stainless barrel. It's also equipped with a one piece rail ready to mount an optic. A few marks on the top of the barrel and marks on the rail from scope mounting denote an otherwise perfect looking rifle. An all-around great rifle, and a great addition to any collection.
