Description:
Gallery Model slide action rifle with Gallery style loading port.on the mag tube. 23 inch round barrel chambered in 22 SHORT caliber. Bore could use a good cleaning. There is a small ring in the barrel about 5 inches from the muzzle which is common in a Gallery gun. Barrel is a mixture of some original blue with some plum/brown as well as gray. Blade front sight and a sporting rear that is missing the elevator. Nice sharp markings. Receiver does have most original blue remaining with the lower tang and trigger guard turning a gray patina. Serial numbers are miss-matched but that is quite common in a "Gallery" gun. Hard rubber buttplate is cracked. Most likely from being dropped at some point in its Gallery days. Wood is in pretty good condition. Nice crisp functioning action. This is a Model 62A that is good example of Gallery gun that has a story to tell. Made in 1946.
