Presented for your consideration is this unadulterated low numbered Winchester Model 54. Complete in its original specification with steel butt plate, receiver mounted Lyman 48 WJS sight and Schnabel forend with sling mount.  

The Model 54 was Winchester's first successful foray into the civilian centerfire market. These rifles were essentially hand built by Winchester craftsmen who paid close attention to the fitting of parts, stock inletting, and all things that were important to accuracy and appearance. This rifle epitomizes the early twentieth century sporting rifle.  Produced between 1925–1936, this Model 54 is from the second year of production, with a little over fifty thousand rifles manufactured Model 54's in such good condition are a rarity. 

This rifle exhibits a mirror perfect bore, weighs just over 7.5lbs, a LOP of 13 11/16". A crisp trigger pull of 5lb rounds out this great package.  With its Mauser inspired controlled feed clawed extractor at its heart, feeding from an integral five round magazine, the Model 54 sets the standard for the new wave of bolt actions. It is a testament to its superb design and still a worthy rifle almost one hundred years since its birth.
