Winchester Model 53 in Mint, Like-New Condition; 25-20/25 WCF Caliber

This Collector and Shooter’s Winchester Model 53 Rifle in 25-20/25 WCF Caliber appears to our eye in Mint, Unfired, Like-New Condition – as if it has been locked away in a time capsule for almost 100 years. We have to call it “used” because we cannot prove otherwise scientifically. With SN 99XX it is numbered in the separate Model 53 series – not within the Model 1892 series. A Model 92 below SN 10,000 would date to the 1890’s, much too early for a Model 53. As non-experts, we estimate this one was produced in the late 1920s during the middle of the 1924 – 1932 Production Run. We cannot identify any case head marks on the breechblock or any other evidence, including inside the barrel, of it having been fired. It is by far the newest looking (almost) 100 year-old rifle in this extraordinary collection; and it looks to be in better condition than examples selling for thousands more.
