Winchester Model 53 Deluxe 25-20 WCF 22-Inch Round Barrel Takedown Rifle; First Year of Manufacture
Description:
Not often found for sale – A Used, Winchester Model 53 Factory-Deluxe Takedown Rifle in 25-20 Caliber with 22-Inch Round Barrel. Three-Digit Serial Number 67X indicates 1924, the first year of manufacture, as far as we can tell. All markings are proper, sharp, and easily legible. The number "83" - over "33" inside a Diamond Border is stamped on the bottom left of the receiver next to the Lever Hinge Point. The Pistol Grip Stock has Factory Diamond-Border Checkering on the Bottom of the Forend and Both Sides of the Pistol Grip – which also carries a Hard Rubber Winchester-Logo Grip Cap. Added Embellishments to the Stock consist of Carved-Inset Paisley Designs with Stippled Backgrounds – that appear to have been added after the initial purchase. The proper Serrated, Blued Steel Buttplate and Forend Cap retain their Original Finish, as does the rest of this High Condition Rifle that, as non expert/non dealers estimate as approximately 95 Percent Original Finish. The most wear is evident on the bottom of the receiver and extending a bit upwards – most likely from grasping the rifle while carrying it in the field. The rear sight is an unusual “Ghost Ring” arrangement marked on two lines: “CHAS. DANIELS / PAT. JULY 25, ‘05”. The Front Sight is a Drift-Adjustable Brass Bead, Unmarked, on an (Integral to the Barrel) Base. The Bore is in Excellent Condition with Sharp Rifling and some rifle-sock lint showing in the photo. Mechanical functions are tight and secure, including the Takedown Feature – which places a modest premium on pricing in addition to the Deluxe Model. Please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees after buyer pays return shipping. The listed price Includes Insured Ground Shipping from a CA FFL Dealer to yours. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are the Estate Executor and Trustee, not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
