Winchester Model 1894 Rifle 32-40 Half and Half Fine Condition

Description:
Serial #268416, .32-40, 26" half-octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1902-made rifle that has retained 80-85% of the original blue, mostly on the barrel and magazine tube, with some silvering at the muzzle, along the edges of the barrel facets, and gray fading along the sides and bottom of the receiver. The lever and hammer have muted, but still visible original color case-hardening remaining, and the crescent steel buttplate has a freckled, bright gray patina. The smooth walnut forend and straight-wrist buttstock have numerous minor handling marks and blemishes under a thick added varnish finish, and a short with-the-grain crack at the tip of the top tang. This is a very nice looking 1894 rifle, with a special order barrel, and lots of original metal finish remaining. It rates about fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
