ANTIQUE Winchester Model 1894 LEVER ACTION Carbine
Description:
ANTIQUE Winchester Model 1894 LEVER ACTION Carbine
Chambered in .30 WCF & Made in 1895
Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, made in 1895 in New Haven, Connecticut. Production lasted from 1894 to present day with over a million produced. Relatively few of that number were produced prior to 1899, the date set by the ATF that designates whether a firearm is considered an “antique” or not. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm lies with John Moses Browning. The model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder. In all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other.
This carbine features a round barrel in .30-30. The sights have been replaced with a hooded front and Marble’s rear. The top of the tang is marked “MODEL 1894/WINCHESTER/PAT. AUG. 21 1894”. The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.” The rear of the barrel is marked “.30 WCF”.
The overall condition is very good. About 60% of the original blue finish remains with an even, dark patina making up the balance. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock is in very good condition. The bore is in great shape, bright with sharp rifling. The action is excellent.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 20 inches.
Caliber: .30-30 WCF
Overall condition as seen in photos.
