*Sale Pending* - SPECIAL ORDER CASE COLORED WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 1894 RIFLE IN 38-55
SALE PENDING
Description:
26 inch octagon barrel chambered in 38-55 caliber with a very good bright shiny bore. Sights include a combination Beach front with a sporting rear and a folding tang peep with a large disc aperture. Barrel and full length magazine tube retain about 40% thinning blue. A very rare feature for a Model 1894 is the special order case hardened receiver. It retains about 30% original case colors with the most vivid colors on the lower tang. Also a good amount of case colors remain on the hammer and lever. Strong blue on the bolt and good nitre blue on the loading gate. Nicely figured deluxe checkered walnut pistolgrip stock and forearm are in very good condition. Overall good checkering and only minor handling mars. An added coat of finish has been applied to the stock as well. Rifle style crescent buttplate has a silvered appearance. Sling eyelets are mounted on the underside of the forend cap and buttstock. Crisp action. Made in 1895 and has a factory letter verifying Rifle, 38-55 Caliber, Octagon Barrel, Plain Trigger, Checkered stock, Pistol grip and Casehardened. This is a very scarce Winchester as only 157 (155 rifles and 2 carbines) Model 1894's were built with a casehardened receiver and with this low serial number it is one of the earliest casehardened Model 1894s made. A true prize in Winchester collecting!
