c1913 WINCHESTER Model 1892 Lever Action .32-20 WCF REPEATING RIFLE C&R
Classic Early 1900s Lever Action Made in 1913
Description: c1913 WINCHESTER Model 1892 Lever Action .32-20 WCF REPEATING RIFLE C&R Classic Early 1900s Lever Action Made in 1913 Here we present a C&R Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle chambered in .32 WCF, made in 1913 in New Haven, Connecticut. Another fantastic design from the mind of John Moses Browning, the 1892 was made to replace the venerable and iconic 1873 and featured its pistol caliber chamberings. The result was a trim and light rifle that was an immediate hit and stayed in production for almost 50 years. Many gun owners favored Winchester rifles for their ability to fire the same ammunition as their pistols, meaning that a cowboy, trapper or stagecoach defender could take along his trust rifle and pistol sidearm with only one supply of ammo! The Model 1892, like many other Winchester rifles, were popular when the television show “The Rifleman” premiered in 1958 starring Chuck Connors and producers tried to find gimmicks to distinguish one show from another. The Rifleman's gimmick was a modified Winchester Model 1892 rifle, with a large ring lever drilled and tapped for a set screw. The lever design allowed him to cock the rifle by spinning it around his hand. In addition, the screw could be positioned to depress the trigger every time he worked the lever, allowing for rapid fire, emptying the magazine in under five seconds during the opening credits. In April 1919, Winchester eliminated the “18” and “19” from the model names of all of the various models that were in active production. So, after this date, the Model 1892 would have become the Model 92. The overall condition is good. Weathered exterior with light texture throughout. The action is excellent. The bore is gray in color with worn rifling. The butt stock is solid. It has a chip at the junction of the wrist with the upper tang and has been modestly refinished. There is a long, repaired crack along the bottom of the forearm that is stable. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: .32-20 Winchester Center Fire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R Licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1885 #228115 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
