28 inch round barrel chambered in 45-60 WCF caliber with a good bore that has visible rifling and shine with some very fine light roughness. Original sights include a German silver blade and an "1876" marked folding ladder rear. Most thinning barrel and magazine tube blue remains with the bottom of the mag tube turning a brown/gray color. Strong original blue on the receiver with some light scratches. There are some file marks on top of the dust cover and a band of paint on the barrel next to the frame. Strong traces of case colors on the hammer and lever with the balance turning gray. The straight grain walnut stocks are in good condition with only minor handling mars and a slight gouge on the left side of the buttstock. Rifle style buttplate. Crisp action. This Third Model rifle was made in 1885. Complete with factory Winchester letter.
