1891 Winchester Model 1873 Rifle in .32-20 Caliber
** Iconic Winchester Rifle Design **
Description:
This is a very neat old antique Winchester Model 1873 manufactured in 1891 chambered in .32 W.C.F. (.32-20 caliber). There is no doubt that this Winchester witnessed a lot of Kentucky history in the eastern part of the state where it has resided for the last 100 plus years until now. This Winchester 1873 is all-original except for the replacement sliding top cover, and the action seems to be in perfect working order. As you can see in the pictures, the rifle has a nice and even blue/brown patina on all of the metal parts. The bore still shows some nice rifling but does have some scattered pitting. The original factory Walnut stock set has aged to a pleasing dark red/bown color and appears to be structurally sound despite a crack on the bottom of the forearm that runs from the front metal cap 3.5" inches back. The stock set shows a nice aged patina and dings/dents indicative of an antique rifle that has been used but well-cared for. There is even a set of initials (W.M.B.) lightly carved in the wrist at some point many decades ago that still shows. This Winchester 1873 would make an excellent addition to any collection that could serve multiple purposes as a shooter, investment, and even a decorator for a spot above the fireplace or on a bookshelf. If you have always wanted one of these American classics but didnt want to pay thousands of dollars here is your chance to get an original example at an excellent price.
