Description:
This Winchester Carbine is fresh to the market! This Winchester was produced in 1891. The carbine's serial number is 169857. This carbine is one of the last 1866's to be produced. It has the rare calibre marked barrel and carrier. It is chambered for the 44 Henry rim fire. It has the correct front and rear sights as standard for this model. It also has the correct Lyman tang sight mounted on the tang. These Lyman tang sights are rarely seen on the 1866 carbines. The carbine barrel has bright sharp rifling with some slight light pitting against the lands. The barrel and magazine blue is fully intact and is lightly fading to plum. The reciever has not been polished or reworked. The color is in a pleasing aged mustard finish. The corners are sharp and defined. The screws are not burred or defaced. The trigger spring has the bright nitre blued finish. The stock and forend are in very fine condition and retaining the original factory finish. The butt plate trap retains the original three piece cleaning rods.The hammer shows strong color case finish. The lever shows color cased finish in protected areas. The buttplate has 90% of the original bluing intact. The action is tight and functions like new. The saddle ring staple is tight with no play.
