Here we present a Winchester Model 60A Sporter Version Bolt Action Single Shot Rifle manufactured in New Haven, Connecticut circa 1932. The Model 60A is almost identical to the Model 60 except the Model 60A has a chrome plated bolt, bolt handle and trigger. This design started as the Model 58 in 1928 and was the replacement for the popular Model 1902 & 1904 .22 cal. single shot rifles.
The Model 60A, introduced in 1932, had two variants, the Sporter and the Target. The Sporter retained the 23” barrel length while the Target had the 27” barrel. The Model 60A was discontinued in 1939 and only about 6,100 of the Sporter & Target combined were sold.
The overall condition is fine. The action is excellent. The bore is in great shape. One that many of us grew up learning on!
