Description: Here we have a minty 1971 Mfg Winchester Model 1894 94 NRA 100 years commemorative lever action rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester caliber. The Winchester Model 1894 rifle (also known as the Winchester 94 or Model 94) is a lever-action repeating rifle that became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time. It was designed by John Browning in 1894 and originally chambered to fire two metallic black powder cartridges, the .32-40 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester. It was the first rifle to chamber the smokeless powder round, the .30 WCF (Winchester Center Fire, in time becoming known as the .30-30) in 1895. This particular example is in outstanding overall condition and if it has been fired at all it has been very little indeed. This rifle exhibits only the slightest of handling marks and the 24 inch barrel has a minty bore with very strong rifling. A hooded ramped blade front sight and an adjustable rear sit atop the barrel. The stock and forend are of attractive walnut and the stock has an NRA medallion inset on the right side. This fine Winchester would make a great addition to a collection or an excellent way to start a new collection. No box or paperwork.
