Description: This rifle needs no introduction, up for is an extremely rare Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 Carbine in special order uncatalogued 30 US or modern translation 30-40 Krag caliber. The Model 70 Winchester rifle is a staple in American history, and an addition of this scarce Carbine would be any Winchester Collectors dream. This particular Model 70 Carbine was built in 1949 with the bolt having matching serial number. It boasts a 20" barrel with a hooded front sight and a rear half moon sight. It has been drilled and tapped from the factory. It's metal butt plate is original and shows bluing wear around the edges. The floor plate has normal wear probably from someone holding it from underneath. The bolt and barrel have normal bluing wear from use. The rifles manufacturer stamping, serial number, and caliber markings are crisp and true for its age. The stock is correct and shows standard wear and handling marks from us, but appears to have no cracks or major dents. The rifling and bore are strong.
