WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 SADDLE RING CARBINE .30 Caliber, Made in 1900
Description: Winchester Model 1895 SRC, .30 Cal. Made in 1900. Beautiful example of a 125 year old Winchester. Just holding it makes me think of the great old movie, "THE WILD BUNCH". As you can see from the photos, the receiver is marked .30, designating 30-40 Krag. These were not chambered in another 30 caliber cartridge until the 30-06 was invented. Those made after 1906 would have been marked .30 US. I have shot 4 rounds through this one with no problems or malfunctions. The action is smooth and it hits where it is aimed. The sights are very nice and precise. The bore is in great shape for its age and it should be, due to the fact that it is chambered in a smokeless cartridge. There is a Factory Letter with it but the letter does not provide much information (see photos). I really hope that someone will give this one a good home. Thanks for looking and please contact me if you have questions.
