Winchester 70 Pre-64 7.92mm *MADE IN 1951* RARE NON-STANDARD CHAMBERING
Description: Manufactured in 1951 this Extremely Rare Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 bolt action rifle is chambered in a non-standard 7.92mm caliber. This caliber is not listed in Dean Whitaker's book study The Model 70 Winchester 1937-1964. These non-standard calibers are almost non existent and this rifle in 7.92mm is no exception. The rifle has a 24" round barrel and is equipped with it's original hooded front sight and rear adjustable sporting sight. It has been factory drilled and tapped on top of the receiver for a scope. Winchester proof marks are crisp on the left side of the receiver and rear of the barrel. It's checkered stock and forearm have normal wear and handling marks for the age. The bluing is strong with notes of wear in areas of the floor plate, trigger guard, muzzle, and hood sight. The original sling swivels are intact. The rifles bore is shiny and strong. The bolt is correctly numbered to the rifles serial#. The serial number is 205935. A factory full box of 7.92mm ammo is included. This Pre-64 Model 70 in an extremely rare non-standard caliber is a fine example and would be a welcomed addition to any collection.
