1970-84 Vintage Weatherby Vanguard Rifle in .300 Winchester Magnum w/ Bushnell Banner 3-9x40mm Scope **Superb Condition**SOLD**

Description:
This is an absolutely beautiful all-original vintage Weatherby Vanguard rifle chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum, complete with period Leopold bases and rings mounting a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 scope.  This Weatherby rifle was made in Japan and it remains in superb condition in every respect.  The Japanese-made Weatherby's are well known by both collectors and shooters alike for their superb craftsmanship, excellent accuracy, and extreme reliability.  This .300 Win Mag Weatherby features a spectacular factory Walnut skip-line checkered stock with a Rosewood tipped forend and pistol grip cap, a high-polish gloss blue finish on the metal, a 24" inch barrel with no iron sights and a factory drilled and tapped receiver for optics.  The factory gloss blue finish on this Weatherby is in beautiful condition rating 98%, showing only very minor handling marks visible only under extremely close inspection.  The bore is mirror-bright and is free from any defects whatsoever.  The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp lands and grooves and no visible erosion.  The floorplate and triggerguard are like-new.  As mentioned before, the factory stock on this rifle is really exceptional.  While most Weatherby's from this period have very nice deluxe wood, this stock is better than most.  The buttstock in particular has amazing figure and contrasting color in it, with the the glossy finish giving the wood a 3-D look to it.  The skip-line checkered panels are crisp, clean, and sharp, and the Rosewood pistol grip cap and forend tip are seamlessly joined to the Walnut.  This stock also comes from the factory with sling swivel studs and a factory Weatherby-branded recoil pad with a length of pull of 13.75" inches to the end of the pad.  The scope and mounts on this Weatherby are in excellent condition just like the rifle.  The Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 scope features a gloss blue finish, extremely bright and crystal-clear glass, a standard reticle, a fine-focus adjustable eyepiece, and a magnification range of 3 to 9 power.  Both the 40mm objective lens and eyepiece lens are free from any scratches, chips, delamination, or defects of any kind.  The elevation and windage adjustments are click-adjustable for 1/4" at 100 yards and both turrets have their original caps intact.  This Weatherby is in perfect working order, just like the day it left the factory 40 plus years ago.  The action is super slick and precise, the bolt lock-up is smooth and without any slop, and the safety and trigger function perfectly.  It is our opinion based off of the condition of this rifle that it has likely had less than a 100 rounds fired thru at the very most, and has obviously been very well cared-for.  If you have been looking for an investment-quality, beautiful, classy, powerful, and accurate rifle for your collection this Weatherby Vanguard in .300 Winchester Magnum would be a perfect choice.
