1980 Vintage Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in .300 Weatherby Mag w/ Weatherby 3-9X40 Premier Scope ** Spectacular Rifle ** SOLD

Description:
This is an absolutely beautiful all-original vintage Weatherby Mark V Deluxe rifle chambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum, complete with period original Buehler bases and rings mounting a Weatherby Premier 3-9x40 scope.  This Mark V Deluxe rifle was made for Weatherby by the Howa firm in Japan in 1980 and it remains in superb condition in every respect.  The Japanese-made Weatherby Mark V's are well known by both collectors and shooters alike for their superb craftsmanship, excellent accuracy, and extreme reliability.  This .300 Weatherby Mag Mark V Deluxe features a spectacular factory Walnut skip-line checkered stock with a Rosewood tipped forend and pistol grip cap, a high-polish gloss blue finish on the metal, a 24" inch barrel with no iron sights, an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, a 9-lug fluted two-tone short-throw bolt with a rear mounted safety, an adjustable factory trigger, and a factory drilled and tapped receiver for optics.  The factory gloss blue finish on this Weatherby is in beautiful condition rating 98%, showing only very minor handling marks visible only under extremely close inspection.  The bore is mirror-bright and is free from any defects whatsoever.  The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp lands and grooves and no visible erosion.  The floorplate and triggerguard are like-new.  As mentioned before, the factory stock on this rifle is really exceptional.  While most Mark V's from this period have very nice deluxe wood, this stock is better than most.  The buttstock in particular has amazing figure and contrasting color in it, with the the glossy finish giving the wood a 3-D look to it with the swirls and figure appearing to "float" over top of the base Walnut.  The figure was perfectly placed in this stock so as to put the straight grain in the wrist for strength, and all of the swirl, contrast, and stripe on display in the butt and forearm.  The skip-line checkered panels are crisp, clean, and sharp, and the Rosewood pistol grip cap and forend tip are seamlessly joined to the Walnut.  This stock also comes from the factory with sling swivel studs and a factory Weatherby-branded recoil pad with a length of pull of 13.75" inches to the end of the pad.  The scope and mounts on this Mark V Deluxe are in excellent condition just like the rifle, and period correct for the 1980's.  The Weatherby Premier 3-9x40 scope features a gloss blue finish, extremely bright and crystal-clear Japanese glass, a standard duplex reticle within an oblong "wide-view" sight picture, a fine-focus adjustable eyepiece, and a magnification range of 3 to 9 power.  Both the 40mm objective lens and eyepiece lens are free from any scratches, chips, delamination, or defects of any kind.  The elevation and windage adjustments are click-adjustable for 1/4" at 100 yards and both turrets have their original caps intact.  The Buehler rings and bases are also gloss blue for a perfect match to the rifle and scope.  The Buehler ring design is very clean and handsome, and very sought-after today by vintage rifle collectors in particular.  This Weatherby Mark V Deluxe is in perfect working order, just like the day it left the factory 40 plus years ago.  The action is super slick and precise, the bolt lock-up is smooth and without any slop, and the safety and trigger function perfectly.  It is our opinion based off of the condition of this rifle that it has likely had less than a 100 rounds fired thru at the very most, and has obviously been very well cared-for.  If you have been looking for an investment-quality, beautiful, classy, powerful, and accurate rifle for your collection this Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in .300 Weatherby Magnum would be a perfect choice.  The .300 Weatherby Magnum cartridge does everything the .300 Winchester Magnum does but better!
