Valmet M62/S Semi-Auto Rifle 7.62x39mm Rare, Unfired
Description: This is a rare semi-auto version of the famous Finish assault rifle, the Valmet RK 62. This rifle is famous for being a straight-up upgrade of the famous Soviet AK 47. The RK 62/M-62 rifle’s single biggest improvement over the AK 47, apart from the metallurgical quality of the receiver and barrel, is its sights. Most AK’s have their rear sight atop the gas block, giving the user a very short sight radius. In the RK 62 and the civilian-legal M-62/S, the rear sight is mounted on the rear of the receiver cover, doubling the sight radius. Combined with the hammer-forged match-grade barrel, the M-62/S has been known to achieve less than one minute of arc. The rifle is also designed to function in the worst conditions a Northern European winter has to offer. As mentioned, the receiver of an M62/S is better than that found on the typical AK. This is due to the fact that the receiver is milled rather than stamped providing for stronger if slightly heavier receiver. This M62/S was imported into the U.S. by Interarms. According to the previous owner, it remains unfired. It is indeed in great shape. The only oddity is that the magazine moves slightly from side to side. This is likely due to the large tolerances one would expect from an AK or AK-derivative. While some might take issue with this, it should be noted that these large tolerances found in the typical AK/AK-derivative allow it to accept the plethora of magazines available.
