Description:
SALE PENDING GARY M (MN.): Sometimes referred to as the "Custom Model" these fine European Sporting rifles are known for exceptional qaulity of workmanship and are among the smoothest actions anywhere. This on is belived to have been made approx 1966 to 1973 (distinquished by the dual safetys) and is in extraordinary condition. This one was made in 1965. It appears to have not ever been used in the field with only minor imperections. it comes with a period correct US Made Weaver Fixed  K4 which is as clear as when it left the factory many years ago. When these were imported by the venerable Stoeger company at the time they listed for more than a Model 70 Supergrades. There are no imperfections wothy of mention The stock characterizd by the black forend tip with white line spacers there, at the pg cap and butt plate (a tribute to 60's era flashyness...) it is othewise a shadow line raised cheek piece and monte carlo combed stock. A pad has been added; the LOP is 13 5/8. The factory sling swivels have been replaced with the more handy QD types. The pistol grip screw is a little rough but could easily be cleaned up. The bolt handle has some flecking which should easily polish out on a wire wheel. The bore is also excellent. The following are exerpts from the the 1959 Shooters Bible:
The bolt together with the magazine and loading mechanism may be easily dissembled and reassembled without tools
Two completly independent safeties 
Small size magazine complely encolsed preventing dirt or dust from entering.
Rotary typ magazine insures positive feed 
The lands and grooves are lapped to a mirror like finish assuring accuracy and reducing the possibiliy of rusting
