Description: This is a great original example of the highly-coveted, rare, and iconic Steyr AUG bullpup rifle chambered in .223 Rem./ 5.56mm NATO complete with 4 original 30-round factory waffle mags. Made famous by appearing in scores of movies and countless TV shows in the 1980's, 1990's, and 2000's like "Die Hard" 1 & 2 & "Robocop" 1 & 2, Toy Soldiers, Octopussy, Commando, The Running Man, Dragnet, Point Break, Predator 2, and The Transporter, (just to name a few!), the Steyr AUG quickly became one of the most iconic weapons of the 20th Century. Every kid that grew up in the 1980's and 90's that was into guns wanted one, and the ownership of an AUG was certainly a status symbol for the adults who were able to afford one. This particular Steyr Aug is one of the very early-production pre-ban 903-Series with a 3-Digit Serial number imported by the Interarms company in Alexandria, VA. This gun was imported before Steyr switched to Gun South Inc. in Alabama for the sole right to import these. Wearing it's original & desirable green composite stock, this example remains in great shape overall, showing some minor spots of superficial wear but in perfect mechanical condition. The action is smooth and all of the controls are in perfect working order. The Swarovski-supplied integral scope is crystal clear with the well-known "Donut of Death" reticle in perfect shape. It has been in a private collection for many years, and was not fired during this time. With the feverish rise of Pre-Ban semi-auto rifles, and with many collectors stashing them away for extended periods of time, the pre-ban guns are hard to find on the collectors market.
