Stevens Model 1915 Favorite in .32 Long RF Caliber
** All-Original with Superb Mechanics & Good Bore **
Description: Very seldom do we encounter one of these older Stevens Model 1915's in all-original condition that hasn't been modified by someone along the way, much less a scarce one factory chambered in .32 Long (Rimfire) that has a good bore. This Model 1915 Favorite is just that, and while the stock may have been sanded or varnished at some point over the last 90 to 100 years, the rest of the rifle is in the exact configuration it left the factory in sometime between 1915 and 1920. The Stevens Model 1915 was introduced in 1915 and manufactured until 1935. It incorporated all the design improvements that Stevens had come up with from the prior 1889 and 1894 Models, among them a thicker receiver and internal screw bosses which made the rifle much stronger than the earlier models. The vast majority of the Model 1915 production was in .22 caliber, with very limited numbers of .25 and .32 caliber rifles made. This example is serial number A 286, which makes it a fairly early production rifle (1915 to 1920). As mentioned before, it is a .32 Long gun with a 24" inch octagon barrel with iron sights (upper tang factory drilled and tapped for tang sight). The original factory finish on this rifle has turned a brownish blue patina on the barrel, with the case colored receiver turning a gray/brown. The bore in this Favorite is in good condition, in fact excellent when compared to any we have seen in this caliber. It is bright and shiny with well-defined rifling throughout the bore. If you look very closely you can see some very minor pitting in the grooves, but nothing that would hurt it's accuracy or take much away from the overall clean look of it. The stock set is in good condition and is 100% solid. The original Stevens-branded buttplate is even still in place and in good shape. As mentioned earlier the mechanics of this Stevens is excellent. The lever locks nicely up into battery and the hammer still has all of it's notches. The ejector still functions properly and the trigger breaks nicely with a very light pull. As you can see from the pictures, the screw heads all look nice and clean like they have never been out of the gun. If you have been looking for a nice original example of this scarce Stevens Favorite here is your chance to get a good one. Also, we DO have a couple of boxes of factory loaded Navy Arms ammunition for it available at an additional cost. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: J.
