Description:
32-5/8 inch round barrel chambered in 45-70 Govt. caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore. Sights include a blade front and stepped base rifle-style rear. Overall metal is a dark brown patina with very light pitting. Breech block and tang show traces of original thinning case colors turning silver. Very good wood has a great fit and has an unusual zigzag S-shaped marking on the right side of the stock. Correct buttplate, three swivels and cleaning rod. All metal markings are very good. Stock cartouches visible but not legible. The lockplate is also dated 1873. Excellent mechanics. 228,XXX serial range. A very nice rifle overall!
