Springfield Garand Sniper M1-D Rifle 1950s
Description: Serial #2841884, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle has a 1944 manufactured receiver mated to a 1951 dated barrel, and has mostly Springfield parts (the early milled triggergroup housing is WRA marked with SA parts), and retains 97-98% of the parkerized finish applied when the rifle was converted to sniper configuration. There are some spots of silvering and gray fading on the high edges and projections with some further finish loss on the bearing surfaces of the bolt and within the op-rod raceway. The M84 scope has an applied protective black coating and crisp, clear optics with intact post and line reticle. The walnut stock and handguards are in very good-fine shape with scattered handling marks and blemishes scattered about the armory re-applied varnish finish. The MRT leather cheek pad is in excellent condition, and both a canvas M1 sling, and M2 conical flash-hider are fitted. This is a superb example of a desirable M1-D sniper rifle, and would make a great addition to any collection.
