H.M. POPE Barreled, M1903 Springfield Target Rifle, .30-06, Beautiful w/ Exc. Bore

Description:
            *** PRICE REDUCED ***   This beautiful target rifle was built by the famous H.M. Pope. The barrel was manufactured in Popes’ Jersey City, N.J. facility, operational from 1908 - 1950. The barrel markings, on the underside, indicate it was mounted on receiver number 8985. The barrel number assigned by Pope is 508, manufactured in 1917. The 14/0 mark is a rifling machine set up code mark. The bore is Exc. bright & shiny with a muzzle ware gage reading of 1.0.
            The walnut stock is a beautiful, well-marked, Springfield Armory M-1903, having a “DAL” inspectors stamp. Danial A. Leary (D.A.L.) worked as an inspector at Springfield Armory from 1917- 1930.
           The telescopic sight is a Lyman 4 power, 438-Field, period correct for this rifle. The scope has fine crosshairs, clear optics and "Click" adjustable micrometer scope mounts. The rear Springfield ladder sight is protected by a P.J. O’Hare sight cover.
         The receiver is from a very early first year rifle serial number 8985. The receiver shows evidence of having secondary heat treating by Pope.  
          This rifle, like all built by Pope, was built for accuracy and frequently modified by owners for their particular needs. This rifle has not been modified and remains in beautiful condition. This classic rifle is destined to become a part of a fine collection, it could be yours.

SHIPPING: 
Shipments are made via U.S.P.S. Priority Mail, Insured, with a return receipt.   Packing, Shipping and Insurance cost for this Long Gun is $80.00.

RETURNS:
Returns must be made within 3 days of receipt. They must be received in exactly the same condition with no parts exchanged.  If it has been altered, damaged, or fired, a refund will not be made.  Packing, shipping and insurance cost will not be refunded.  All layaway purchases are returnable for merchandise credit only.
 PAYMENT: 
Bank check, Personal check, and Money Orders are preferred. Visa and MasterCard are accepted with a 4% processing fee.  Checks, both Bank and Personal must clear before the order will be shipped, usually a 2 week delay. 
 LAYAWAYS: 
A 20% deposit is required.  Balance is due in 30 days. Deposits are non-refundable and are forfeited after 45 days.  Layaway sales are returnable for merchandise credit only.
SALES TAX: 
Pennsylvania state sales tax is 6% for in state purchases. The payment of other states sales tax, if applicable, for shipped items is the buyers responsibility.
