SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 1891 Trapdoor
Description: Guns Listing ID: 776016 This 1891 Springfield model 1888 Trapdoor is in excellent shape considering it‚‚s age and military use. The wood is in excellent shape, and shows the original 1891 inspection cartouche on the left side. The SWP stands for Steven W. Porter who was the master armorer and ordnance inspector for Springfield Armory. This rifle also comes complete with the original attached rod bayonet. The metal is mostly patina, but some of the original white metal shows in places. The bore is in great shape considering this was designed for black powder loads. The rifling is still sharp, and there is very little visible pitting of the bore. The action locks up tight, and the action works as it should. This would be equally at home hanging over your mantle, or out on the range lobbing rounds at targets several hundred yards away SOLD Manufacturer: SPRINGFIELD ARMORY Model: 1891 Trapdoor Caliber Info: .45-70 GOVT Condition: Used - Non-Certified Barrels: 32.5 BARREL Finish: PATINA |
