Description: 1891 Mfg.- 1884 Model Springfield Trapdoor Carbine chambered in stout 45/70 Government caliber. Wearing a checkered Walnut stock and Lyman tang mounted peep sight with ladder sight removed. Acceptance cartouche on left side of stock with another proof circle on bottom of stock , both shown in photos. A great vintage military shooter or an addition or start to your US Military arms collection. The trapdoor Springfield saw action in the American Indian wars, a heavy hitter that must have decimated any foe in its sights.
