Springfield M1 Garand, CMP " Correct Grade ", Cal. 30-06
Description: CMP "Corrrect Grade" Springfield M1 Garand in excellent condition. CMP rifles in this grade are rare and were only available occasionally in limited numbers, They were similar to the "Service Grade" guns but show less wear and use. "Correct Grade" rifles will have all correct parts for the date of manufacture with 80% or better overall metal finish. The stock and handguards will be of walnut and correct for the rifle but will have some dings, dents, scratches and marring of the wood finish. Stocks will have the appropriate original inspector's cartouche. The rifle bore will be very good with no significant defects and with a throat erosion of less than 4 and a muzzle wear of 2 or less. This Springfield M1 Garand is in excellent original condition, appearing unissued. The metal surfaces retain most all of their original finish, with only some minor scuffing on the gas tube. The stock has the correct DOD cartouche and retains all of its original finish, with minor handling marks, except for the dent on the left side of the stock, below the receiver. The bore looks like new and has a throat erosion of 1.7 and a muzzle erosion of 0.7, essentially brand new/unfired. And as you would expect, the action functions perfectly.
