A collector grade 1898 Krag from a nationally known Krag collection, Contributing Author and Collector. For your consideration. An excellent, US Springfield, M 1898, Krag rifl, 30-40 Cal.. Serial # 2485xx. In mechanically exceent condition. All features function as they should. All parts are M 1898 and correctfor this rifle. The metal finishes are original. The receiver retains handsome case coloring, barrel and parts bluing. The bore is very good, without pitting, some frosting and very good rifling.The rear sight is a correct 1898 / 1902 Sergeants rear sight, with flip up peep.The front sight is the correct match for the rear sight. The stock is an original and correct 1898 stock with a correct 1903 cartouche and fire proof "P"(behind the trigger guard). Included is a 3 piece cleaning rod set and nicel oiler, in the butt trap compartment.
