Description: RARE 20 inch SMITH & WESSON Model 320 REVOLVING RIFLE w/SHOULDER STOCK Numbers Matching; One of 977 Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson Model 320 Revolving Rifle with the Rare 20 Inch Barrel and Factory Shoulder Stock manufactured circa 1883 with a production run between 1879 and 1887. The Model 320 Revolving Rifle is one of the rarest Smith & Wesson firearms with a total of 977 manufactured during its eight year production run and were serialized from 1 to 977 with 840 being sold in the U.S. while 137 were exported. The Model 320 revolving rifle used a top break frame similar to that used on the Model 3 pistol and featured a detachable stock. Three barrel lengths were available in 16, 18 and 20 inches with the 20’ barrel being the rarest length with only 224 manufactured. The revolving repeater in shoulder-fired form was just not going to outshine the lever action rifle or even slide actions at this stage. Nevertheless, this is an iconic collector’s piece. The overall condition is very good. Patina throughout. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The grip and fore stock are solid. The detachable butt stock has a small chip at the toe and is otherwise in fine condition. Numbers match. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 20 inches.
