Description:
This is a very nice C. Sharps “Old Reliable” 1885 High Wall in caliber .40-65 Win. It’s used but in close to like new condition. It features a heavy (#4) tapered full-octagon 30” barrel with a 1-in-16 twist bore and a single-set trigger. It comes with a Steve Baldwin soule windage-adjustable rear sight with a MVA Hadley-style selectable aperture eyecup and a Browning spirit level front sight with 15 interchangeable inserts. The length-of-pull is 13.25”. On an accurate postage scale the rifle weighs 11lbs 15oz with the sights installed. The current new price for the rifle as configured and with sights is over $3,500.00.
There are no scratches or dings on the metal or wood with the exception of one tiny ding where the folded down rear sight hits the stock. The chamber and bore are in perfect condition. The barrel is drilled and tapped for vintage scope blocks/bases with a spacing of 17”. If you purchase the rifle and plan to use a scope with 7.2" mount spacing, I will drill and tap a set of holes for the front blocks at no additional cost. The rifle and sights will be shipped in a Cabela’s $200 heavy-duty aluminum rifle case along with a high-end stainless one-piece cleaning rod.
