Shipped in January of 1870. This is a rare Sharps 1869 sporting rifle. The serial number is CL14 3 which means it is 150, 143. This gun has a smooth brown patina on the metal and is a nice sharp gun. Both the barrel and the frame match in serial number. Interestingly, the gun configuration does not match the letter. This gun is supposed to be 44 caliber and it is a 40 caliber. This gun also has double set triggers and non-factory butt plate. This gun was recently found in the Connecticut area which is the area in which it was shipped. Very neat early 1869 rifle.
