R. F. Sedgley 30-06
Description: SOLD PENDING COMPLETION OF SHIPPING - WILL UPDATE AGAIN ONCE TRANSACTION IS FINAL. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INTEREST. Outstanding Sedgley 30-06 sporter, in really fine condition, built in his Philadelphia shop in the 1930's. Has the original Lyman 48 receiver sight. Also has the original Ziel Dialyt 2 3/4 x scope which has perfectly clear optics, on its original Stoeger side mount. (The reticle is the vertical lower post with solid horizon line. ) The mount is completely solid and the scope and all adjustments are rock solid and very dependable. Removal and replacement of the scope does not effect zero - I've done it several times. Also includes the original leather "leg of mutton" scope case for carrying your scope on your belt as you walked - if you decided that the shot required scope use, you would pull the scope from the belt holster and mount it. The case is labeled in ink with Philadelphia and the date. Has the period correct Lyman front sight instead of Sedgley's ordinary block front sight. I spoke to Michael Petrov about this rifle and he said that he had seen this done in other instances and this sight is seen on many other sporters of the period. The stock is nice rich reddish walnut with crisp checkering and hasn't been cracked or repaired. The interior surfaces still show tool marks from inletting. A fine type-specimen from this important American shop - a great addition to any collection of American pre-war sporters, and also a fine and accurate hunting rifle. It likes 220 grain round nose hand loads of medium velocity. I'm very sentimental about this rifle and wouldn't sell it but for personal circumstances requiring it - it's the nicest most complete Sedgley I've ever seen and has real soul. I'm not an FFL - I will charge only whatever the actual shipping costs are, and I will pay for the shipping materials - box, packing, etc. I will need to ship it to your FFL. I will accept a US Postal money order (no other form of money order) or a cashiers check from a U.S. bank, and I will wait for clearance of funds. I will also accept pay pal to my account but I will ask you to pay the fees for that or use friends and family, as I am paying fees for the sale here. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: R. F.
